"We are 100% satisfied with our experience"
We happily bought our 2005 Wauquiez 40 PS right from the factory in France and after successfully circumnavigating the world on a missionary voyage 13 years later, family on land needed us near, so we naturally chose Gordon Bennett to sell our beloved yacht. Gordon expertly priced our boat, designed a state of the art world wide marketing presentation, and carefully prepared our yacht for the US and global market. In only a short time our boat sold, making us and the new owners very happy. Gordon is easy to work with, always reliable, professional, and is extremely knowledgeable about yachts. We are 100% satisfied with our experience of selling our yacht and we wholeheartedly recommend Gordon Bennett as a yacht broker.

"You were honest and realistic with us throughout the process"
We want to take the time to thank you for all of your help in selling “Baxter”, our Jeanneau 439. We expected that the sale of the boat would come with its own set of challenges, especially having sustained damage from Hurricane Irma. From our first meeting and through the closing, we were impressed with your professionalism. You were honest and realistic with us throughout the process and always communicated with us in an extremely timely fashion. You made yourself available anytime we had a question or if we just needed reassurance of the process. Without hesitation, we would recommend you to buyers/sellers and we would absolutely work with you in the future. Thank you, again, for your time and your commitment to selling our sailboat.

"I really believe we ended up in the right boat"
We were quite happy with the results of this process. I really believe we ended up in the right boat. You obviously have more experience with sailboats than power, but I think the most important part of this process is the people part. This is where you excelled and how we ended up here - which is a pretty awesome place! From our perspective, you kept both buyers (us) and sellers with a realistic viewpoint throughout the process. On the first boat we bid on, but wasn’t accepted, there was no hard push to increase our offer. As we hemmed and hawed, I never felt pressured to move on boats we weren’t sure on. That helped. The boat we eventually purchased was one recommended by you, but one that we were hesitant because of the increased cost. After looking at pretty much everything online, we realized that this boat actually made a lot of sense for us. We were not at all experienced in purchasing a yacht of this size (or expense) and you didn’t push us in a specific direction. You provided options, guidance when we asked for it, and a steady hand throughout. We had room to be comfortable without undue pressurization of the process. This made all the difference in the world. As we move forward, we definitely would recommend you to others. Thank you once again (I’m writing this from the boat).

Thanks very much for all of your guidance and expertise in helping us to purchase our Beneteau 37 sailboat. We can’t say enough about how nice it was to work with you. “I would look no further than Gordon if I was buying or selling a boat. He is honest, knowledgeable and dependable”
During the late summer of 2017, I decided to sell my Hunter 44 DS sailboat, Pelican. She was in the inner harbor of Baltimore near my former residence. I had moved to Florida in 2013 and opted to leave “Pelican” on the Chesapeake for some periodic mini-escapes during the years. Now it was time to sell and I had the great fortune to engage with Gordon Bennett. Selling a boat in Maryland from Florida was logistically a challenge. But, Gordon made it easy. He visited “Pelican” a couple of times in Baltimore to take pictures and check things out. He worked with me on a timeline, sale positioning, and pricing. After an early October final sail, I brought Pelican to Annapolis where she would go on the hard. Gordon helped coordinate everything with the boatyard. I removed thirty years of personal sailing stuff from Pelican and drove to Florida, leaving “Pelican” still in the sling and confident that Gordon would take it from there. And, that is exactly what happened, even with some twist and turns. Gordon had a buyer for “Pelican” in less than a month with a close in early December. Unfortunately, during the buyer’s survey moisture was discovered in Pelican’s hull, resulting from previously undiscovered manufacturing defects some 12 years prior. Fortunately, all could be repaired and Gordon was able to hold the deal together at the agreed to price and terms, as long as the repairs were made and provisions met. Gordon then helped me engage with M Yachts to do the repair. Then through the next few months, as M Yachts did meticulous repairs, Gordon tracked all the details and provisions, completing some items himself, and we closed by the end of March 2018. Selling Pelican in 5 months was well within my expectation … actually better. The fact that we had to re-core significant sections of the hull along the way and Gordon still got the sale done, quickly, at a good price, is simply how good Gordon is. I would look no further than Gordon if I was buying or selling a boat. He is honest, knowledgeable and dependable. And by the way, I never had to return to Maryland during the entire ordeal. Gordon made it happen.
"Gordon is at least as knowledgeable as he is prompt and dependable. There were very few questions he couldn't answer immediately and those that fell into a more gray area, he wasted no time in solving."
"Gordon quickly identified our naivete and lack of experience regarding the process of purchasing a boat but took the time to understand what we were after and helped frame the conversation. He was quick to offer patience, suggestions, and answers to questions we weren't even sure how to ask."
"Gordon was very proactive and responsive to requests. He was always available by email and phone. He was very easy to work with."
"He's trustworthy and dedicated. Once we had decided to put the process in motion, I never doubted his commitment to ensuring a smooth sail all the way to the finish."
"Gordon was a great combination of a knowledgeable and friendly person to work with in finding the perfect boat for us."
"Gordon walked us through the process of buying our first catamaran and helped us a ton in learning and understanding this process."
"Gordon went, what I would consider, above and beyond. He was great at identifying issues with the boat as well as the possible speed bumps we might have during the closing process."
"Gordon really worked at understanding what we actually wanted in a boat, even when we didn't fully know ourselves. We initially thought we wanted a pilot house, but in reality, a catamaran is what made us happiest, and Gordon figured that out."
"Gordon is a delight to work with from the beginning to the end. He is a consummate professional. He is also a problem solver and offers very good solutions."
"Gordon was a good, honest broker. He provided the answers I needed w/o trying to upsell, or over-sell me and helped me through the process. Working with Gordon was a pleasant experience."
